Old wool room gets new life.

Joining Bacon’s Show and Tell this week with the topic of something  old about the house, I bring you the up cycled, repurposed Wool Room.
There has been a shift in our cottage as can happen as a boy grows.
My wool room is now a writing room with a very old writing desk and chair.  It fits perfectly in this small space.  Correspondence from me begins here.

Next we have the boys old study which has become my new studifice. A word I first heard from Fozzie.M who used it to explain her studio/office. Nice to have a studifice of one’s own.

Nice to look out on a courtyard garden too.

The lanterns are solar powered and this area is small but inspiring  any time of the year.
So that is me but what of the boy when he isn’t literally hanging out in his bedroom/study gymnasium?
Well meeting the first lady of course!

  1. Snorts. I once surprised mom and climbed up a chair in the kitchen Auntie Sharon. I think it surprised all of us. You see there was a bag of food in the chair. And well we all know food gets me every.single.time. Snorts. XOXO – Bacon

  2. Thanks Wilhemina. I will keep this photo forever. Shane told me she would be there and I gave him money to get the photo because I am a huge fan of hers. Shane reported she was lovely to talk to but smaller than he expected. He was good and remembered every word that passed between them so he could tell me. LOL! ❤

  3. WOW – Uhura! I mean the rooms are lovely, the changes are great and the garden delightful but Nichelle Nichols!! Historic photo.

  4. Hee Hee. That would be nice Bacon. I would have to carry you up the spiral staircase though I think. Do you do spiral staircases? You are clever, you would probably work it out! 😀

  5. aawww – I love your writing room The only thing missing is this littler oinker sleeping at your feet while you write 🙂 Snorts. XOXO – Bacon

  6. Nice to repurpose a room……and I love the way they look – that new/old spinning wheel is fabulous! Uhura was my FAVORITE character in Star Trek….she was classy – very competent – always helpful……and Captain Kirk counted on her and she was ALWAYS there!!

    Hugs, Sammy

  7. hahaha.
I’m about to turn my home into chaos by having the painters in. This will force me to sort out my sh!t and get more organised. In theory. Your newly tidy spaces will inspire me.

  8. well Sharon that boy is surely one of the best looking, most photogenic people on the planet. I must say he is a lovely, loving lad and I take a part credit for that. Well done both of you….love deb

  9. I am quite prepared to have you say you had mentioned getting them somewhere – in all the kerfuffle of the past month I have missed or forgotten many things. I am just glad to hear they arrived 🙂 I was wondering if I needed to send you another pair 😀

  10. Thank you Pauline! The boy is indeed so much fun. He is into science, gymnastics, art and music. Great combinations. I am just plying my second full skein of yarn and I predict by the 6th I will have it down pat although the early skeins will be quite usable their tensions vary. YES I got your lovely mittens which I will include in a blog one time. So nice to wear something hand made by YOU! Thanks again. I thought I mentioned them on one of your travel updates but might not have or it got lost during the trip.
    Anyway I treasure them. ❤ 😀

  11. Sharon, your tiny courtyard garden is even tinier than mine! Love those lanterns too! Your rooms are having a good reshuffle – it’s a nice thing to do from time to time I think. Your boy looks so happy – isn’t it cool having a kid who’s a geek 🙂 I’ve got two of them! And it’s good to see that spinning wheel all set up ready for action – how’s that going? Finally, tell me, did you receive your mittens that I posted at the end of March?

talk to me people!
