We are back!

Bashfuls first meal in China
Bashful enjoys his first meal in China at the Guangzhou Airport.

Photograph of downtown Tokyo.
Safely arrived in downtown Tokyo and on the way to our hotel Hyatt Regency.

Bashful in comfort mode

Bashful was a little overwhelmed initially but some familiar objects, well wishing cards and his sleeping rock blanket cheered him up.

Miraikan Museum

Next stop in Tokyo the Miraikan Museum via monorail.  I loved this museum and the wonderful focus it has on the hard questions regarding sustainable living for all on our planet. Plus it was HUGE FUN!

cosplay around harajuku park

Cosplay around the park at Miraikan and then to Harajuku.

Dogs at Harajuku

VERY cute dogs, many with their own strollers for when they get tired.  Bashful and I were getting a bit home dog sick so it was nice to pat the Japanese dogs and chat to them. (with their owner’s permission of course) Kawaii!Akihabara electric town

A look around  Akihabara electric town and then back to the hotel. We planned to get the Bullet train in the morning to kyoto.
Japan was wonderful and we all had fun. More news next time. Now I am checking up to see what everyone else has been doing in Bloggieland.

  1. Wow! That is pretty special. I love your idea of making a home corner. Sounds very comforting when you’re visiting new and unfamiliar places. Thank you so much for bringing him along.

  2. HaHa! He was part of the “home corner” we set up every night before we went to sleep (sometimes on the floor!) He was a comfortable cookie! Not many crocheted cookies can say they backpacked through the Wakayama mountain area! 😀

  3. What a wonderful trip! My ‘Aspie’ daughter loves cosplay, she was obsessed at one time with all things Japanese, the food, culture, Anime, Manga….
    Welcome back 🙂

  4. Never knew dogs had their strollers !! That seems to be one whirlwind holiday you folks had. So good to see you back safe and sound 🙂 looking forward to hearing more 🙂

  6. Oh my goodness – so it is! I was looking more at the photo underneath, I was so intrigued by the bottle label 🙂

A Buddhist Retreat is such a big wow for me – I have wanted to attend one for forever…….. perhaps that explains why my well-being has taken a quantum leap forward in the past two- three weeks 🙂

    I am thrilled!

  7. Thank you. Have another look at photo three! Your card went all over Japan too! We set up a small “home corner” every night. Your card even went up high into the Wakayama mountains to a Buddhist retreat in Koyasan. More about that next time.

  8. It truly was amazing!!! I missed my doggies but meeting the Japanese dogs was great.
We went to Harajuka to see cosplay for my son and I had no idea I would see hundreds of well loved doggies and their owners strolling around under cherry blossoms!!!
Many people had dog strollers in case the dog got tired. You would need one a bit bigger Misaki! 🙂
