awarding cookies

I would like to say “thank you!” for some nominations I have recieved but first take a look at this Christmas cookie Jennifer from Squirrel Picnic sent me. The  pattern is available here!detail of gentlestitches Christmas tree with squirrel picnic cookie

I have a request for a Rainbow Unicorn exactly the way Jennifer made it.rainbow unicorn

The pattern I can of course follow but how could I possibly make the eyes exactly the same as Jennifer’s hand embroidered eyes?

Well Jennifer has managed to make our Christmas wishes come true because in the mail along with the lovely card and cookie was a beautiful set of rainbow unicorn eyes! Hooray! All the way from America, in time for me to make someone special very happy!

  1. Thank-you so much. 🙂 I am sorry it took me so long to see this, but I want you to know I truly do appreciate both of them. I didn’t realize I had missed this entry. Hopefully this year (2014) health won’t get in the way so often of me being able to stay caught up with everyone. : )

Congratulations to you on all your awards too. 🙂 You deserve them all and more. 🙂

  2. Oh !! you have no idea how much of ‘to and fro’ sewing I kept doing for the eyes and nose to get the raised effect ….I am learning finally to embroider !!! albeit clumsily 😉

  3. Oh, Sharon! I am so glad that the unicorn eyes and cookie made it safely to Australia. I did think about writing “unicorn eyes” on the form for customs… but I’m glad I thought better of it. 🙂 Congratulations on all the awards. You deserve it and a hundred more! And thanks for the nomination too. You rock! Your tree looks awesome too! Wow, this post really was filled with YAY! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  4. Three cheers 🙂 : ) stinky hot day and sweating outside weeding getting the garden sorted for the onslaught ..listening to Christmas carols about snow…hahahah 😉

  5. Woohoo, thank you for my star! I’m a bit behind in my BOTY2013 posts so I shall have to put one together (or in a couple of days more likely) 🙂

  6. What a great cookie and a great Unicorn eye!!! and congrats on your haul of awards how wonderful 🙂 and as for the tree it looks beautiful…it may be the only other Aussie tree apart from mine I get to see on the bloggies hhahahaha 🙂 hugs Fozziemum xx

  7. It is good to have a bit of “YAY”. My son wanted a rainbow donkeycorn “just like that one!” Gulp! Imagine trying to replicate those eyes? YAY!!! Can’t wait to see your star thingy! 🙂

  8. This post is so full of YAY! I’m glad to see Rainbow Donkey will be making someone else happy! I’m glad that the post office delivered eyes across the world without thinking that was strange! 🙂 And thank you for the nomination, which I shall address in the morning!

  9. Yes she is. I get my look from suncatcher eyes and also a bit of embroidery. Every amigurumist has their own unique look. I also liked the eyes you did with your squirrel. 🙂

  10. Thank you Easy!! I reckon it does too! It is so huge! It is (faux) and just completely takes over the house. I love it and I love your tree too. 🙂

  11. Thanks for noticing my tree! Isnt it amazing? We have a high ceiling Victorian miners cottage and the tree (which is faux and we use each year) takes up almost the whole house. Ridiculous but very fun!!! Nothing matches and there is no theme! LOL!

  12. Congratulations on all your nominations and awards !! Love your gorgeous tree 🙂
Aww thanks for gifting me with a star !!! And here I am gifting you with the ‘most kind and gentle blogger’ award 🙂

  13. Embroidered eye is so beautiful! Jennifer is great, great! What else can I say! 🙂 Congratulations on blog nominations. And the tree is fabulous!
Merry Christmas Sharon and blessed new year to you and your family!
