yarnalong learning Japanese, cupcakes and cat mat.

Wednesdays, Ginny from small things invites us to post what we are reading and making. This invitation is for all who read and make things with yarn so grab a yarn along button and jump right in. Meanwhile enjoy my completed cat mat. It is one of two and I am making Β for two special cats . You know who you are! Pattern for abstract cats which is less complicated than it looks is here.
The book I am reading is the Japanese phrasebook and dictionary from lonely planet. I am hoping to go on a holiday to Japan one day with my son and my goal is to book into a hotel or homestay starting in Tokyo and then just explore.Β
Lastly are the cupcakes I am working on to help pay the bills which will be sold at end of year in Melbourne Markets. I am working on completing the patterns and plan to post them on my free patterns page.

  1. I am putting together a community craft Christmas market at the Northcote Community House early December.. I will let you know the date when it is finalized. Perhaps you would like to consider having a stall there too? I will provide you with all the information. πŸ™‚

  2. Yummers! And congrats on learning Japanese. I have a dream to visit Japan as well… there are so many wonderful places and things to see in the birthplace of amigurumi.

  3. HeeHee! Thank you so much. I am working on a crochet cupcake for beginners and I will post it very soon. Meanwhile thank you for your kind words. πŸ™‚

  4. I do believe my head just exploded. Cupcakes AND Cats AND Books?!?!??! This post has EVERYTHING!!!!! If there were a tiny Wonder Woman in the picture, I’d never leave here. EVER. I love that cat mat. Seriously. I may have to take a stab at knitting and make those. Stab being the operative word in that sentence.

  5. You are welcome. Thank you for liking my cupcakes. I don’t know who made the cat pattern up but they are very clever. It is easy to make and a great gift for pussy cat lovers.:)

  6. HaHa! No I am not that clever but sometimes traveling on the tram I listen to talking books on my smartie pants phone and knit or crochet. Talking books are good, but for me anyway they are not the complete experience like a “real” book. πŸ™‚

  7. Abstract cats pattern is fabulous! Your cupcakes are beyond words. Sweet, cute, adorable…!
Thanks for sharing both of them with us today πŸ™‚

  8. This is too cute my friend! I could almost pick them up and eat them – almost…. mommy says I can’t but they look delicious! XOXO – Bacon
