cowl and a new header for Australian Literacy and Numeracy week.

Life is filled with funny little coincidences sometimes. ย This cowl that I was posting a little more about today, was taken from an idea from a book that was featured in this years Australian Literacy and Numeracy week which I was planning to mention also!
Jack and tricky help with measurements
In this book Violet takes a piece of her Mother’s knitting that is in a box with knitting mistakes and after embellishing it, she sews it up and makes a tubular scarf “Brilliant!” There is a lot more to the book than that but I really liked that idea. I had a very nice woolen scarf that was knitted years ago and the good thing is it has angular ends. Jack and tricky are always there to lend a paw. They are not allowed in my wool room but are quick to volunteer for any other job. So the scarf is gently washed, dried in the sun and the ends sewn together. Voila! Whatever happens now I can be confident I won’t have an Isadora Duncan like episode!
Completed cowl, nice and warm.
More about Australian Literacy and Numeracy Week later and how the new and improved header links in.

  1. Thank you for liking my new header. I took the photos at Barwon Heads. Whew! I am glad you are here to tell the tale. Scarves and Super hero capes can be very dangerous! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Gorgeous and I love your new header too! I’m most relieved that you won’t be having an Isadora moment. I once made a scarf so long it used to get shut in my car door all the time!

  3. Wait, you can sew together the ends of a scarf and make a cowl?!?! LOL, what a great idea. Now, I just need to find someone who can sew. ๐Ÿ™‚
