Hurtling forward.

finiThe end of the year is fast approaching and the gentlestitches craft courses are over for the year. Fear not though because we will be back bigger and better next year with sewing, knitting and crochet courses, a new look webpage and an on-line shop. But that’s not all!!! We are also planning to help in the running of a special community crafty event which we will post about soon.

Last week to celebrate this special time of the year, the Jika Jika Community Centre very generously hosted a party. It included a sumptuous meal, drinks and great company. Did I mention an abundance of really great food? It was well attended and lovely to see so many happy children having a great time. Two of mine included.

It was great to catch up with people and talk about the year (almost) past and about future plans. I have learnt a lot this year which always happens when one teaches anything. I close this post with one of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite Christmas movies. The Grinch staring Jim Carey.

“Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps…means a little bit more…….”

more next time.

  1. Aww, thank you! Well, the world has not ended so surely that can mean only good things for 2013. (Man, I didn’t mean for that to rhyme! 😉 )

  2. It must be so wonderful to be a part of this creative project! I shall look forward to seeing what the new year brings for you! 🙂

  3. Hooray for the blogging world!!!!! Happy Holls to you and yours too. (I am still trying to track down a non cat looking collar for Jack the Jack Russell who really needs one)

  4. Can’t wait to see your new stuff on-line and pretend like I live down the street and could pop in at any time! Nice to have a blogging world for that. Happy Holidays!

  5. And a very happy summer solstice to everyone! Our longest day will occur on 21st December this year so there are lots of hours in which tinsel can glitter, mirrors can reflect and other sparkly objects can, um, sparkle.

  6. I can proudly report I had a large serving of that most excellent Pavlova and it was absolutely delicious! I am not sure who made it but it was a triumph of a Pav.

  7. The party sounds wonderful and that looks like a pav to be reckoned with! I love that Grinch quote too 🙂

talk to me people!
