Packed and ready to go.

This is the end of the toolbox section before we get busy and move on to mending our world.  I have decided to make a post so that people can access the toolbox idea without having to go through the archives. We are going to have a lot of fun and satisfaction mending our world but first we must have our toolbox.  if we come across some thing that needs mending and we have our toolbox stocked, ready to go and handy, we are much more likely to  get it done. Your toolbox can be anything from a  cardboard box to a hand lacquered ruby encrusted work of art and every thing else in between. In it you need scissors, needles, a pincushion and some thread.  You might find other things useful like a tape measure or pencil and paper. Remember it is your toolbox and you can have anything in it you like.

At gentlestitches we promote a shift from the current throw away disposable society and embrace some of the practices of the past. Not all of them I hastily add. There are many aspects of the past I would very much like to leave in the past. LOL!  My interest is in the 3R’s. Repairing, reusing and recycling. I am also a huge fan of decluttering.  I believe if you don’t love an item, get rid of it. Bundle it up and give it to charity. Or sell it. Unwanted stuff  zaps energy. Keep it only if you truly want it. If you can’t bear to give it away because you still love it but it needs mending or special cleaning, you are at the right place! I will show you how to get new life into your favorite items with just a few simple steps. But more of that next time.

  1. I LOVE getting rid of stuff. There’s too much stuff in this part of the world and a bit too much in my world. That’s why the Great Goddess gave us Freecycle, in my opinion.
