Pins and needles.

Today is the final post in the getting your tool box ready series.

Today we are putting the finishing touches to our toolbox. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or an expert, I urge you to keep this tool box completely separate from every thing else. You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish if you have the tool box ready.

So apart from our toolbox, we now have out thread and our scissors.  Today we add our pincushion, needles and pins. You will need a minimum of 4 pins, preferably but not necessarily with heads. You will not believe how useful these pins will be. Next you will need some plain sewing needles and lastly some darning needles.  I keep 3 of both sewing and darning needles in my pin cushion. Choosing your pincushion is the fun part.Pin cushions come in many shapes and sizes and can be hand-made, received as a gift or         purchased. They can be very plain as the one below.

Or a gift from a special friend like this one.

This is my favorite pin cushion.
It is a cup of tea with milk and was inspired by Anna Paula.

This was a gift from a friend who was in a “pin cushion swap”

I hope this post has inspired you to rush off and organize your tool box.
