About

gentlestitchesMy name is Sharon aka “gentlestitches” and this is the home of aussiegurumi. I believe the future is in our hands.

I am passionate about all things stitchy and environmentally sustaining.  I love to make, write about and teach , crochet, knitting and hand sewing.  I love to see what others are creating. I am on a mission to bring back the gentle art of repair and firmly believe “mending is better than ending”.

I promote recycling ,up cycling and bicycling. Upcoming classes are listed on my classes page but meanwhile take a look around my site, and have some fun.  I am always updating  so there will always be something new for you to consider.

I look forward to hearing from you!

  7. Mending is better! How many times have I been loathe to part with a garment!

  8. Thank you! I do have a lot of laughs and as for being creative with wool, well check back as I am just getting started! I plan to release a mob of Australian animals and birds into the blogosphere.
You are pretty amazing yourself they way you turn spaces into stylish and comfortable homes with minimal damage to the hip pocket!! A true gift and very generous of you to share these ideas with others! BTW my front door looks awful. I might just get brave enough to have a go at it after reading your “knock knock” post I will let you know. I have never painted anything (except nails)

  9. Thanks for visiting my blog! I have to comment that you are so creative with wool in ways I’ve never seen – you must have a lot of laughs in your life, the creatures are so whimsical and fun!

If you re-cycle and up-cycle, isn’t that bi-cycling?? So if you add another **-cycling to your list, you would be tri-cycling! ;-) ~ Linne
